How to apply the law of attraction step by step

To “apply” the law of attraction to create different or more attractive circumstances in our lives, we must first understand how it works. The movie The Secret has made knowledge of the law of attraction more widespread. But many don’t quite get it right because in The Secret, it’s described quite simply. Some might even say that it oversimplifies the law.

The main theme of the film is that we are creators, whether consciously or unconsciously. Most of the time we create our lives on an unconscious level, reproducing old programs, thoughts and beliefs that do not serve us.

For example, we often complain about our circumstances, attracting an emotional attachment to them through our emotions and strong words, trying to push them away. But in fact, we only instill them in our experience by giving them more attention and power.

When we begin to associate these events with who we are, we run these programs throughout our lives, believing that life is our self-imposed identity.

When we become more aware and learn to apply the law of attraction for a better life, we can take more charge of what we want and create better results. How do we do this?

Applying the law of attraction to increase prosperity, health, and happiness can take some time. After all, you have been manifesting your current circumstances for many years. You can’t turn everything around overnight.

Start by becoming aware of the words you say, the thoughts you think, and the emotions you feel on a daily basis. What events do you talk and think about? How do you feel about yourself? These are important signs that point to where your life is going. If all you do is complain all day, how do you create a better life?

The first step is to become more aware of how you think. Thoughts really do become things. It may take several years to see evidence of this, but it all starts with your thinking.

As Henry Ford said “If a man thinks he can or he can’t, he is right.”

How do you become more aware of your thinking habits? Look at them. You can also learn to meditate, to help calm your inner chatter. Your mind talks to itself almost constantly. Meditation allows you to observe the mind without going into the identity of the ‘speaker’.

Also listen to yourself when you speak. What do you talk about and in particular when you speak with passion or emotion about a certain topic? Noticing what you talk to yourself and what you say out loud will help you see where you are paying attention, what you value, and how you think about the circumstances in your life.

Stop complaining! Complaining can become a habit that gives credence to the idea of continually suffering. It’s a learned behavior that can come from getting a parent’s attention from childhood. The problem is that complaining sends a signal to the unconscious mind of a strong emotion. This is addictive. However, the more you complain, the more things you will attract to complain about. Every time you give a strong emotion to something you don’t want, you try to push it away, pay more attention to it, and it grows in your experience.

Start a gratitude journal instead of your complaints. Gratitude is usually what we ultimately want in life. Without gratitude, the mind cannot long sustain a level of happiness without wanting more and seeking more. Gratitude is the opposite of complaining. We are usually only grateful for short periods of time. When you focus on something, it grows. So focus on the things you are already grateful for and develop this as a daily habit.

Visualization is another tool for manifesting the life you ultimately want. We often unconsciously visualize arguments with our partner or blows. We use visualization to create the things we don’t want, like complaining.

To use visualization effectively, we must first be very clear about what we want from life. What circumstances and situations do you want to attract? How do you feel when you imagine it? Put energy into living these experiences in your mind, and you will ‘teach’ your unconscious mind to focus on those things and bring them into your life.

Affirmations are another tool to help you create more of what you want in life. Just like complaining and visualizing, we often use affirmations to affirm the things we really don’t want. “I never take a break.” “I’m not good at this” and so on.

To use affirmations in a positive way, we need to speak what we want to attract into our experience and keep saying that message to ourselves.

To make a change in our lives, we must change. We must become better versions of ourselves to attract those things that we say we want and we must believe that we deserve it too. You can’t think positively on the surface while secretly feeling bad inside and hoping for a magnificent change. You must embrace your whole being and renew all of your thought processes, beliefs, and attitudes if you want lasting change.

The movie The Secret may make you believe that you can simply think a few pleasant thoughts and manifest miracles in your sleep. But what The Secret says is not so simple. It is much deeper and more ingrained in your thought and belief systems. To make big changes in your outer life, you need to look within and examine your inner mind.

Becoming more aware is the first step on this journey.
