My trip to New York

I recently visited the Empire State. If I had to describe my experience in one word it would be WOW. New York is a world unto itself. The following article will explain the pros and cons of my visit to the Big Apple.

We landed at the busy John F. Kennedy airport where we were greeted by employees with a lot of attitude. They were rude and disorganized creating a sense of chaos in the domestic terminal. Without his unnecessary harshness, the airport would run smoothly and quickly. Luckily, our taxi driver had a much better attitude than the airport employees. He gave us a short tour of the city from JFK to Times Square for the low fee of $50.00. We arrived at our hotel, “The Manhattan at Times Square”, however our rooms were not yet ready for us. This was disappointing because after our long 5 hour red eye flight we wanted to rest. The customer service here was not impressive, which surprised me, given that New York is one of the most visited cities in the world, with an estimated 9.5 million visitors a year. To kill time while our rooms were getting ready, we went to Columbus Circle to get yogurt at Wholesome Foods and then traveled downtown for lunch at The Spotted Pig. If you ever get a chance to eat at this amazing restaurant, be sure to try the delicious blue cheeseburger. It really hits the spot.

We were finally able to return to our rooms to rest and prepare for our night of sightseeing in Times Square. There are so many lights!!! We looked for a place to have dinner and ended up going to an Israeli kitchen. The food was tasty and delicious, but then again, there was a lack of customer service. The next day we had brunch at Carnegie Deli where the portions are HUGE and tasty. After clogging my arteries with the huge amount of food from the famous Carnegie Deli. We walked through New York from Time Square to the Upper West Side walking down the West Coast Highway, stopping at Battery Park to take photos of Lady Liberty only to end up eating again at one of New York’s many hot dog stands.

This is only about 1/7th of my trip to New York, but I will continue to add more articles about this trip and many more. Stay connected.
