Can you make a house Scorpio proof?

If you’ve been stung by a scorpion or live in a scorpion-infested area, you’ve probably asked yourself the question, “Can you scorpion-proof your home?” The answer… There are some simple steps you can take to HELP Scorpion PROVE a home!

I say HELP Scorpion Proof Your home for a couple of reasons. First off, Scorpions only need a TINY crack (1/16th of an inch wide to be exact) to get into a house. Chances are, you probably can’t seal every tiny crack around your house. Second, scorpions are hunters and will continue to come from neighboring properties, desert, and grassy areas. You really should keep your pest control service professional to ensure total control of scorpions within your home and garden!

Like any insect, scorpions need food, moisture, and shelter to survive. Remove these scorpion resources from your home and garden to help Seal Scorpions and gain MAXIMUM control!

  • Remove harborage areas in your yard that attract scorpions and their prey, such as: wood piles, leaf piles, overgrown shrubbery, tree bark, large to medium-sized rocks, and debris.
  • Scorpions and the insects they feed on seek moisture, so make sure your outdoor irrigation system is working properly—don’t overwater. Do not allow areas to become waterlogged.
  • Make sure all your DOOR SWEEPS & Weather-Stripping are in good shape and replace the old ones.
  • CAULK around every door, window, utility pipe and cable that enters your home.
  • If you have a cinder block wall fence, use Concrete CULK on the “I” (connecting) block fence and cracks.
  • Seal concrete expansion joints around your home, garage, pool, and sidewalks with concrete caulk.
  • Prevent professional pest control treatments from being absorbed into cinder block fences by SEALING the fence with acrylic paint or a similar sealer!
  • Use ONLY YELLOW BULBS outside! They are less attractive to the insects that scorpions feed on such as: CRICKETS, Beetles and MANY more!
  • Fill the tears of your house with copper mesh. (Between the stucco or siding and the foundation. You can usually fill it under exterior stucco walls.) For smaller areas around the drain, just use caulk.
  • WATCH all FANS around and above your house that lead inside. Be careful not to cover the dryer vent to avoid fire hazards.
  • SCREEN air extractors.
  • SEAL around light fixtures, electrical outlet plates, and plumbing pipes inside your home.
