Are you looking for some good scary games for sleepovers?

A really scary game for kids to play is “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.” I used to play this with my girlfriends when I was younger, probably between 5th and 8th grade (we were only interested in boys after that of course!)

This game is similar to a Ouija board, and it can be just as scary! This is how “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board” works: one person lies on the floor, face up. Then all the other girls (this happens at a slumber party, preferably in a dark room!) surround the person on the floor.

  • Each girl puts two fingers of each hand under the girl on the floor, as if they were going to pick her up (of course they never could with just 2 fingers!)
  • Then everyone closes their eyes (including the girl on the ground) and concentrates on making the girl lying down light as a feather but stiff as a board.
  • Then, we all slowly, slowly Start lifting up, lifting up the girl who’s stiff as a board.

The effect is that everyone feels like they’re not lifting anything (she really is as light as a feather!), but that the girl is somehow mysteriously floating all by herself!

(Look, it’s like when you play with a Ouija board and even though everyone has their hands on the cursor, no one thinks they’re actually moving it!)

If everyone takes it seriously, it can scare everyone.

Then slowly, slowly, continuing to chant “light as a feather, stiff as a board,” lower the girl to the ground. Everyone can take turns. Usually, after having had a turn being lifted, she feels really dizzy and calm and perhaps as if she has had an out-of-body experience.

How about that for a freaky sleepover! It will make everyone’s night.

Another good option for teenagers is to go to a cemetery (at night, obviously) and stick a knife in front of the headstone in the creepiest grave you can find.

Then lie down in the grave with the knife still there.

The object of the game is to lie flat for about five minutes and be able to stand up and honestly say that you didn’t feel a knot in the pit of your stomach.

I haven’t been able to do it yet. It’s better to do this game when it’s a little cold outside because people are more nervous when it’s cold outside.

Another fun thing teens can do is play with a Ouija board. It always gives a good scare.

Another fantastic game for teens is the Bloody Mary game.

what you do is you

  • go to the bathroom,
  • Close the door,
  • and turn off the lights.

You look in the bathroom mirror and say “Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary…”

You are supposed to be able to see a woman who is wearing a white dress and covered in blood.

If the bathroom is pitch black, I always like to have a sibling or parent hide in the bathroom, get out as quietly as possible when the lights are off and the door is closed, and when they’ve finished saying their Bloody Mary, the sibling or parent reaches out and grabs someone’s arm! Make sure they are firmly attached. Not hard enough to hurt them, but hard enough that they can’t walk away.

You’re guaranteed to get a shout out. it is a wonder

These games really only work on people who believe in ghosts and ghouls and things like that. But either way, they’re a lot of fun.
