Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi Vs Honda CB Unicorn – Who Fares Better?

A vehicle comparison study is a sure way to find out which one is better. It helps one to make an informed decision about the vehicle they want to buy and thus they can find the best vehicle that is perfectly suited to their needs.

Here we try to compare two of the best-selling vehicles, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the Honda CB Unicorn against each other. Since both bikes look attractive at first, it’s a good measure to compare the features before zeroing in on the best option. Certain common parameters such as cost, engine power, mileage, and other specifications are considered for a balanced review of bikes.

Cost: The price of the bicycle is the most important determinant of the vehicle that you can buy. If a bike does not fit the budget of the prospective buyer, then there is no point doing endless research on it. Since the price factor is the most decisive parameter, most companies are very careful when pricing their vehicles. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi has a base price of INR 67145 / – (before showroom). Alternatively, the Honda CB Unicorn can be purchased for a price of INR 63208 / -. If we consider only the price factor, Honda wins the battle.

Engine: However, you cannot make a purchase decision based solely on cost.

Engine power and performance are also very important. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is powered by a 149.0 cc, 4-stroke, DTSi, air-cooled engine, which generates a maximum power of 14.09 bhp at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.76 Nm at 8500 rpm. The CB unicorn generates a power of 13.3 hp at 8000 rpm along with a maximum torque of 1.3 kg at 5000 rpm, thanks to its 149.1 cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled SI engine. Although both bikes seem to be on par, the Unicorn is a bit powerful and faster than the Pulsar.
Mileage: The Pulsar offers a mileage of 50 to 55 kmpl. The CB Unicorn performs better at this too, returning a mileage of 55 to 60 kmpl. Both bikes come with a top speed of 118 km / h.

Other specs: both bikes reach the speed of 60 km / h (from zero) in about five seconds and come with five gears (one down and four up). Pulsar has a superior fuel tank capacity of 15 liters (3.2 l as reserve), while Unicorn comes with a fuel tank capacity of 13 liters (1.3 l as reserve). Although both bikes are almost similar in width and height, Unicorn is slightly longer than Pulsar. It also offers better ground clearance than the Pulsar.

So, head to head, Honda Unicorn seems like a better option than Bajaj Pulsar.
