3D mobile phones: the future of mobile phone technology

One thing is for sure with mobile phone technology; its development could be seen as infinite, as manufacturers will never run out of new ideas to make the latest phones work faster and easier to use. Modern smartphones are a prime example of this, packed with the latest apps, running on ever more advanced operating systems, all with the aim of grabbing the attention of consumers.

There has been a technology in mobile phone stores around the world for the last 12 months: “3D display phones”. 12 months ago it was just a rumor, but now it’s not anymore! As the future Smartphone it will definitely have a 3D user interface added to its already long list of features. LG currently seems to be the manufacturer with a terminal closer to launch.

LG doesn’t provide the full package specs, but notes that it has improved the cross-talk problem (well, the instant your neighbor can see everything you type and watch on your phone). Enhanced Parallax Barrier is the trick they’ve used here. But one company that has been tremendous in hitting the parallax barrier is Samsung 3D mobile phones. I wonder if LG will eliminate Samsung in this regard. Sharp 3D mobile phones also hit the market a while back, and I have to say it was a big breakthrough for Sharp; they even got excited when their 3D idea at Nintendo was a huge success in the market.

So are 3D mobile phones what should be on my to-do list? But I have a problem following the trend; especially when the whole idea of 3D technology in movies and games hasn’t settled in my head yet. The whole idea of Optimus 2x has my head in the cloud when my only understanding of Optimus is the autobot superhero in the Transformers movies.

But one thing is for sure; To get your hands on 3D mobile phones like the LG Optimus, you will have to spend a lot of money, as all new technology comes at a very high price when it is first available. Don’t let that put you off though, as with all the technology, once 3D phones have been around for a while, the technology will become as common as cameras in mobile phones today and prices in PAYG, sim free and pay monthly contract will drop to more affordable levels.
