Washing instructions for a long-lasting gymnastics leotard

Over and over again I have seen my gymnasts enter our gymnastics academy in a brand new leotard. There’s just one problem, it doesn’t look like a new gymnastics leotard. I see a lot of new leotards that are super faded, missing rhinestones and color fading. This is very disappointing when a parent spends their hard-earned money on a new gym jersey and goes broke after a wash. To ensure this does not happen to you and your new gymnastics leotard, you must follow the washing instructions on the label. One problem is that many gymnasts say the label itches them, which is why their parents cut it off. This means that mom and dad no longer have the washing instructions and this usually leads to a messy jersey. If this happens, you must follow these washing guidelines …

· Be sure to wash it with a very mild liquid detergent. Usually Woolite or baby detergent (baby magic, dreft, baby all) work best.

· The gymnastics leotard was always in cold water. Using hot water will make the colors bleed more

It is always best to wash gymnastics leos by hand. If you decided not to hand wash them, you should wash them on a gentle cycle with similar items. This will eliminate pulls, snags, and bleeding from other garments.

· Turn your gym leotard over when you wash it. This will help your leopard’s special finish last much longer.

When it comes to drying a gym leotard, it is always best to hang it up to dry. If necessary, you can toss the gymnastics leo in the dryer a little on super low heat.

Follow these instructions and you will have a gym leotard that will not lose its color or shine and will look like new all the time.
