Spiritual call – Taking care of your way, feeding your destiny – Third part

What is spirituality? What is meant by lighting? What are spirit guides or messengers? Is it possible to take an active role in one’s spiritual path? What does it mean to take care of your path, nurture your destiny?

Believing in spirituality means believing that you are a God in the making. Knowing that all life is relative to the sacred, rather than mundane ideals, is the beginning of being spiritual. In terms of quantum physics and mechanics, you must recognize the quantum self, the quantum ocean, and cultivate the powers of the brain.

Recognize your mind’s ability to take you to a higher level of existence where you will find a deeper understanding of the world. Ask the questions, Why am I here? What is my purpose? How can I change life for the better? Live in the mystery, not in the knowing. When one changes his perspective, he is said to be enlightened.

Taking care of your path means managing, guiding or supervising your path with care and devotion. Nurturing your destiny is giving support and encouragement to life’s goals. Ultimately, this ensures a legacy that future generations will be proud of and benefit from.

My spiritual journey began in the spring of 1988 in a thirteen moon year. It was more of a conscious awareness that something very special was happening. I now know that my journey began long before this existence and that spirit guides played an important role. I decided to drive 2,000 miles from California to Minnesota for a Pink Floyd concert in May of 1988.

It was the summer of 1991, and after seeing the movie “Field of Dreams”, my life would change forever. The movie was about an Iowa farmer who built a baseball diamond in the middle of his cornfield. Shoeless Joe Jackson and other long-deceased players showed up to play baseball on his field

In 1988 I was in Dubuque, Iowa, a few hours from the Minnesota state line. Eating breakfast and reading the scores from the professional baseball games played the day before, I had an epiphany. It became pretty clear to me that I was going to drive to Chicago and Detroit to watch the Cubs, White Sox and Tigers play baseball.

I have since accepted that spirit guides influenced this decision. We all have spirit guides and they are with you from day one. Some of us have several. They are messengers, teachers and healers. My spirit guides told me a long time ago that I was a healer and would always be a healer.

If you keep an open heart and an open mind to your guides, you will cultivate relationships with them that will last for all eternity. Don’t be afraid to talk to them, and most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask them questions. They will listen to you and respond to you.

Spirit guides will never deceive you as they only do what is right and good for you. They always have your back. They are literally the road map of your spiritual journey. In time, when you are ready, they will be able to communicate your spiritual calling to you.

On the way to Chicago, I stopped in Galena, Illinois, because it was advertised as the boyhood home of our 18th President, Ulysses S. Grant. I toured his house and the town and found it interesting that a baseball movie about Shoeless Joe Jackson was filmed there.

Fast forward from 1988 to 1991. I had just returned from a vacation on the East Coast. One of the highlights of that trip was attending a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

They were playing the Oakland A’s and I sat on the first base line a few rows up.

In the film, Kevin Costner (Ray Cansela) and James Earl Jones (Terrance Mann) attend a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. They’re sitting along the first base line a few rows up and the Red Sox are playing the Oakland A’s.

While watching the movie “Field of Dreams” I realized that it was the movie being filmed in Galena, Illinois three years earlier. Galena was portrayed as Chisolm, Minnesota in the film.

It was then and there that I realized that my spirit guides had taken me exactly where I was supposed to go both times, Galena in 1988 and Boston in 1991. What were the reasons? What was the message? What was happening here?

In the movie Ray Cansela had problems with his dad. When he heard the voices in his milpa saying “Build it and he will come,” he did. He built the baseball field and the house for his father. The voice said, “Ease the pain from him.” It seems that he also achieved that by playing ball with his father and introducing his father to his daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

I had problems with my dad. The message I got from the movie was that I needed to address those issues. I needed answers to questions that haunted me in life and in my dreams. For the next two years, I took every opportunity to talk to my father.

I asked the questions I needed answers to. I solved my problems, thanks to that movie. When my dad passed away in 1994, my mom asked me to do the eulogy for her. If she had not solved my problems, I would not have been able to fulfill that request.

Can I honestly say that this was a spiritual experience that my spirit guides made possible? I think it was and the spiritual guides were fundamental in taking care of my path and I continue to feed my destiny.
