How do I love Disneyland Resort? let me count the ways

I have visited and written about Walt Disney World® Resort countless times, but disneyland Resort has truly become a favorite Disney destination. In fact, I have come to love it for many reasons. Let me count the ways:

#1

pure nostalgia

Disneyland The park was built by Walt himself, and although quite a few changes have been made in the last 60 years, the magic lives on. “The Happiest Place on Earth” remains in many ways as it was in the ’50s: nostalgic, charming and enduring. Who can resist sliding down Splash Mountain, that enchanting pink castle from Sleeping Beauty, or the sentimental attractions of Fantasyland? There’s nothing I love more than seeing Mickey Mouse leading a marching band down Main Street!

#two

walkability

You may be surprised to find that neither the bus nor the monorail is required to reach the parks in this pedestrian-friendly destination (although a monorail is conveniently located at downtown disney® District on the outskirts of the disneyland Hotel. At most it’s an easy 10 minute walk to either Disneyland gold park Disney California Adventure® Park from any Disney resort. The ease of transportation (or lack of need) is amazing! so different from The Walt Disney World Resort where traveling by bus, monorail or boat from most resorts to a park is almost a requirement. And better yet, if you want to switch between the parks, it’s just a matter of strolling through a wide square. How refreshing!

The weather

Southern California weather…need I say more?

#4

Disneyland Hotel

Speaking of nostalgic! Disneyland Hotel originally opened in 1955 with just 104 rooms. In its new incarnation, there are 975 rooms in three renowned themed towers – Adventure Tower, Frontier Tower and Fantasy Tower – spread across this fun and playful complex. Each tower embraces a theme from the original “lands” of Disneyland Park, each a spellbinding time capsule filled with classic Disney memorabilia and artwork. Rooms that offer touches of magic, an expanded pool area, and new dining and entertainment options make this extraordinary hotel better than ever. And the most exciting thing is the fantastically themed Signature Suites on the 11th floor of the Adventure Tower!

#5

Earth Cars

The remarkably transformed Disney California Adventure Park has created more excitement than ever with atmospheric Buena Vista Street and sensational Cars Land, true bonuses to your experience. The towering Cadillac Range serves as a backdrop to the neon-filled city of Radiator Springs, where you’ll find disney california adventure The park’s most popular attraction, Radiator Springs Racers, along with Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi’s Flying Tires. It’s worth the trip here just to see this amazing place!

#6

Incredible Shows and fireworks

Disneyland The nightly shows and attractions of the resort are notable with colored world perhaps the most spectacular of all. Tea magical fireworks show in disneyland Park is so nostalgic with the addition of Tinker Bell and Dumbo literally flying around Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. And the shock of seeing a life-size pirate ship and Mark Twain’s riverboat as part of the Fantasmic! show is a real kick.

#7

Excellent Eat

Despite The Walt Disney World Resort has many more dining options, Disneyland Resort has great options, including the infamous Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand California Hotel® & Spa, Grill 55 in disneyland Hotel and Carthay Circle in disney california adventure Park. And though they come from a cart, no one can forget the corn dogs in disneyland Park!

#8

dinning room we have whim

You know the routine The Walt Disney World Resort…wake up at 7am ET exactly 180 days prior to arrival if you want some of the best dining spots or a character meal like Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, California Grill, etc. It is not the case in disneyland Resort where even the best restaurants can be found at the last minute with perhaps the exception of Plaza Inn’s character breakfast at Disneyland Park. In fact, you can’t even reserve a dinner up to 60 days in advance. It’s a much, much less stressful system.
